The power of analytics
Many people see analytics and data as a scary realm and choose to shy away and avoid the multitude of numbers — in reality, embracing your user analytics can really help you to enhance your digital presence and grow your business.
Analytics give you a real insight and understanding into your user behaviour and allow you to get to grips with who is interacting with your content, and how.
Ranging from demographics to engagement, you are able to view (and depict) a plethora of information which can have a great impact when used correctly.
This user information can help you to make informed decisions surrounding your website and marketing campaigns such as what to improve now and what you can produce in the future.
When it comes to analytics, one of the most important aspects is the contextualisation of the data as this process truly gives rhyme and reason to your findings.
So, how do I add context to my data I hear you cry?
Firstly, you really need to think about the type of data you are looking at and how this plays with the rest of your site — is it a new button which users are interacting with?
Have you ran a mobile campaign which has made your views on mobile devices soar through the roof?
Or do you just have a product/ service which is tailored to a younger audience and that’s why you have the highest number of views in the lower brackets?
Answering questions like these will help you to pull apart your findings and make quality impact upon your digital reach.
Following on from the depiction of the data from your site and campaign, you can begin to make informed improvements and iterations to your site.
For example, if a new call to action isn’t really serving its purpose after 30 days, it might be worth changing the positioning of this on the site, along with potentially changing the wording or content surrounding it.
If you are seeing lots of drop off during a data acquisition process, it might be worth streamlining the user process along with making sure that all of the content featured is appealing and enticing to users.
Analysing data can be a huge task which is often underestimated and misunderstood by many, however it is a key stage of growing your digital reach. At Wool Digital, we love crunching the numbers and adding a story to your user behaviour — if you would like to hear more about what analytics can offer you, or just fancy a coffee on us, drop us a line at hello@wool.digital.
